Today is Alexander Graham Bell Day. On this day in 1876, he received a patent for the telephone. See figure. Six hundred court challenges, known collectively as The Telephone Cases, followed. Eventually, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in his favor in 1888. More than a century later, litigation continues to impact IP matters.
