On March 1, 2022, Yellowstone, the world’s first national park, began celebrating its’ 150th anniversary. Among the factors leading to the park’s creation was the fight for indigenous lands led by Sitting Bull. There’s something to see, including wildlife, in every season at Yellowstone, although the wolf population reintroduced in 1995 is shrinking. If you’d rather avoid the crowds at Yellowstone, there are 29 other national parks marking 50th anniversaries this year.
