Defending Trademarks Demands Vigilance
The Tolkien Estate is no
stranger to battles, including those involving protection of its’ intellectual
property. Recent litigation involved a cryptocurrency NFT using the name JRR
Token. The estate was successful in having that usage declared a trademark
violation. We suspect this will not be the final IP battle for the estate.
